I came into this work as a doula, standing beside families in some of the most important moments of their lives. What I witnessed again and again was a gap. Women who came in knowing what they wanted and left feeling like that want had been set aside. Decisions moved fast. Questions went unanswered. I saw women leave their births feeling like they had not honored their own voice.
That is what sent me deeper into this work. I kept thinking there has to be a better way. A way to fully be present with families who wanted something more natural, more intentional, more human. What I discovered changed everything. When women feel genuinely safe, known by their provider, and truly heard throughout the process, their experiences and their outcomes look entirely different. Safety and autonomy are not in conflict. They belong together.
I am also a mother of five who has had four homebirths of my own. I know this experience from the inside. I know what it feels like to want care that respects your body, your instincts, and your family. What I offer is not a program you move through.
